Catechism Class or Confirmation Class
What is Catechism and Confirmation?
Martin Luther wrote the Catechism as a brief summary of the basic truths of the Christian faith. It was primarily intended to educate the laity and was designed as a tool that parents could use to teach their children. It provides summaries or explanations of the Ten Commandments, the Apostles Creed, the Lord's Prayer, the Sacrament of Baptism, the Sacrament of the the Alter (Holy Communion), and the Ministry of the Keys and Confession.
Once a person has studied the Catechism, understands and believes its teachings they are considered "Confirmed" in the faith. They are then allowed to partake in the Holy Sacrament (Communion).
Classes will be held at Zion Lutheran Church & School located at 812 Western Ave, Columbus, Wisconsin.
Thank you to our Sunday School Teachers who have assisted in the training of these children of God.
