GROW IN YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND FAITH!

Description:

IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS, JESUS, ALWAYS JESUS (a new bible information class)
Introduction
Spiritual Opportunity & Spiritual Instruction are like a hand with a perfectly fit glove.  They go together.
Whenever there is spiritual instruction in the truths of the Holy Word of God, biblical instruction is fulfilling a spiritual opportunity to help people in the very best way possible on earth; to help them understand the most important teachings in the world, through the Word of God’s truth.
Every time the minister or a Christian has the privilege to share the Word of God with someone, by preaching, teaching, talking or sharing the Word of God personally or publicly, it is a spiritual opportunity that can help people get to know their Lord and Savior God better, correct a false impression or belief, or encourage them to feed their faith.
You see, the Lord speaks through the words written down in the bible for mankind to learn and re-learn, to understand and believe in the heart, not just in the mind.  And there is a lot to learn about God, His Will, and in particular His love.  The minister is merely the “voice” of the Lord when he teaches, preaches and explains the word of God.
It would be ideal if everyone gave the minister or every Christian the chance to tell others about God in detail, answer their questions with the bible, and show them from the bible the countless things the Lord wants us to know about Him, about life, about each other, and about the life to come.
But the world has a way of getting in the way of learning the most important things of life.  Doesn’t it?
The minister, as a spokesman of the Lord, however, is only a phone call away, or a few steps into the church door away, awaiting the spiritual opportunity he is looking for from you.
THE SCRIPTURES: GOD’S HOLY WORD
Inspiration
In our current generations, Satan has spiritually manipulated people to remain unbelievers or become unbelievers in a masterful way.
His crooked path by which he leads souls away from the One True God toward unbelief centers in his sometimes underhanded and sometimes open faced lies about the Bible as the very Word of God.
No matter that God says His “Word is truth.” (John 17:17)
Or, “The Holy Scriptures are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.” (2 Timothy 3:15)
Or, “When you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but as it actually is, the word of God.” (1 Thessalonians 2:13).
All the words of the Bible are God’s Word because the Holy Spirit taught the human writers not only the thoughts, but even the words they wrote.
Satan condemns the bible and introduces and maintains paths of doubt about the Bible as God’s Word in order to rob people of faith in the Lord and His Word.
Those who oppose him (the Lord’s servants) he must gently instruct, in the hope … that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.” (2 Timothy 2:25,26)
Paul writes: “I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.”
Jesus said to them … I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say.  You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire.  He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:42ff)
2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God.”  The Bible “is” God’s inspired Word.

This means that God breathed into the bible writers the very thoughts and words He wanted them to use; and He also guarded them from error in writing the very Word of God.

Scripture uses the expression “thus says the Lord” or it’s equivalent well over 2,000 times!

The writers of the bible spoke the Lord’s words.

For example, consider Zechariah (7:1,4,7,12): In the fourth year of King Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah … Then the word of the Lord almighty came to me saying … Are these not the words the Lord proclaimed through the earlier prophets … And the word of the Lord came again to Zechariah … and the words that the Lord Almighty had sent by his Spirit through the earlier prophets…”

Jesus often equated Scripture with God’s Word.

For example, referring to an Old Testament text, Jesus said: (Matthew 22:31ff) “But about the resurrection of the dead – have you not read what God said to you, I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of the dead but of the living.”

Jesus considered the Old Testament inspired.
He also foresaw the inspiration of the New Testament.

Though the New Testament was not yet written during his earthly ministry, Jesus promised His disciples: “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

The Bible does more than just declare that it is God’s Word. It proves it!

Romans 1:16 “I am not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.”

The Scriptures have the power to make people recognize and repent of their sins, but the Scriptures especially have the power to brings sinners to faith in Christ.

Unlike any other book, the Bible is ABLE to bring us the wonderful news of forgiveness and eternal salvation in Christ who saved us from the guilt of sins by his innocent life and redeeming death on the cross for all.

Conclusion:
The minister goals are God-pleasing goals when he shares the Word of God with people.
Sure, if everyone the minister has taught and preached God’s Word to someone who actually became a member of the congregation, this would be a proper goal.
But the goals are much more spiritual than that.
If you give him the chance to teach you from the Word you will have a chance to learn about God and life under God.  That is his true goal.

Because then the Word of God which the Pastor uses will have a chance to sink deep into the inner recesses of the heart of faith.
The deeper, the better, for there is nothing more special than a God-given faith that believes “with all one’s heart” and there is nothing more special than to know with the mind the “beauty of the Lord’s truths” and how they apply in one’s life.
When someone joins the congregation for the right reasons at the right time, this is a very happy time.  You see, that would mean the minister has continuous opportunities to encourage and help you in your faith in the Lord as members of a group of people who gather around the gospel in Word and Sacrament.
And besides, membership would mean more likelihood that the congregation members would have the opportunity to get to know you, worship regularly with you, serve the Lord with you, help spread the word of God to others, and generally speaking, just enjoy you as fellow believers who know Jesus well with faith, and who strive to love one another with His kind of love.   There are scores of reasons why.
The most important reason pastor preaches / teaches is so that we get to see one another in heaven one day, by faith in Jesus, Jesus, only Jesus.
So, you see, it would be most ideal, whether you join our congregation or not, that you simply give the minister ample class time and ample time at worship together, to help get you know your loving Lord with saving faith, and “Jesus Christ whom He has sent,” and to “trust in Him with all your heart” until the end of our time in this world.
